Calvary Bible Church was formed in July of 1963.  The Church was incorporated in September of the same year. The small church had services in a store front in Port Jervis for the next ten years. 

 

In 1970 the property at its current location was purchased and in 1973 the first services were held in the basement of the present building. By 1978 the second story was completed and services where then held in the new sanctuary.

 

A Christian School (Calvary Christian School) was formed in 1981.  Some years later, due to declined involvement, CCS became authorized by the state of NY to become a hybrid-school that would work with homeschooled families with a combination of some in our academic accountability program and some involved in our Thursday Co-op program.  Twenty-five to thirty-five families annually participate in the Co-op program.

 

Through its 52 year history, Calvary has had 9 pastors.
